EXTENDED BIOSteve Thomas has spent more than 30 years helping organizations build leadership, develop people, and create cultures where people can come to work and be the best version of themselves.
Put simply, Steve helps people navigate through the complexities of human weirdness. He genuinely wants to see people live better lives and has a passion to develop people to get the most out of their leadership and life. Through speaking, coaching, and conversations, he challenges leaders to grow, rethink, and see leadership for what it is…a responsibility. It’s obvious that better people make better organizations. While many start with tips and techniques to fix the deep challenges, Steve prefers to dig below the surface to address the deeper issues we often don’t…beliefs, blind spots and behaviors. Uncomfortable? Yes. But often times the uncomfortable is necessary. Convinced that leadership drives culture—and culture drives everything else, he challenges current thinking and belief systems to create growth and improvement…and maybe even a little more fun. In fact, part of his mission is simple: make the work culture more fun. (Or “enjoyable” for the fun-impaired.) Steve has a knack for making complicated ideas simple and practical. In fact, it’s almost a hobby. He loves challenging people to rethink what they’ve always thought. As he often says: “If you think what you’ve always thought, you’ll get what you’ve always got.” When he’s not working with leaders and organizations, Steve coaches football and lives in Springfield, Illinois with his wife, Debbie. She’s a retired educational consultant who spent her career doing much of the same work he does—except she’s way better at it than he is. SHORT BIOSteve Thomas invests his life in helping a variety of organizations build leadership, develop people, create team and improve the workplace culture. To put it simply, he helps people navigate through the complexities of human weirdness. He genuinely wants to help people be better in every area of their life and has a passion to develop people get the most out of life and their leadership.
FUN BIOSteve Thomas is not normal and neither is his approach. He works with organizations all over the country helping them see leadership in a different way, apply leadership in a different way and help them re-organize and rethink their cultures and their teams. In fact, helping people rethink and see things differently is a passion. Another passion is helping people navigate through the complexities of human weirdness. Steve is NOT a motivational speaker. Instead, he creates conversations, leads discussions and stays away from just lecturing or speaking or pumping you up.
One of his fundamental beliefs is you’ll never be a better leader (or anything) until you become a better person. Which is exactly why he loves helping people live better lives; when you live a better life you are a better leader and when people on your team live better lives you have a better organization. INTROToday we welcome Steve Thomas. Steve is not normal. And nor does he want you to think normal. People only get better when they stop, pause and rethink the way they see things. He leads conversations in all kinds of organizations to help them develop people, team and leadership. Today he wants to challenge us all rethink [leadership, people, team, etc.] Now, get ready to laugh, learn and drink from a fire hydrant. Here’s Steve.

leadership. Today he wants to challenge us to think about the way we think, and rethink the way we think, so the way we think and what we think can actually expand to rethink what we think in every aspect and in every part of our thinking and our lives. Now, get ready to laugh, learn and drink from a fire hydrant. Here’s Steve. PHOTOS
